My life coach asked me this week: “what is your word for 2024?”
I forgot what I said for 2023, but after some contemplation, I’ve decided that for 2024 my word will be “NO”.
For those of us old enough to remember, TLC said it best:
So NO, I don’t want your number. NO, I don’t want to give you mine and, NO I don’t want to meet you nowhere, NO, I don’t want none of your time and NO, I don’t want no scrub…
My goal for 2024 is to be intentional. That means saying NO to many things that are scrubs or scrub like. It means that I am going to try to really focus on using my time wisely and doing things that matter the most to me, my family and my community.
I am happy to report that I have somewhat of a plan for the first three months of writing for Book People. I think I may dial down this Substack writing so that I have time to focus on writing Book People stories. I will give it some more thought over the winter break but so far I am thinking I can alternate on and off for Book People and Substack. Also dialing down my morning writing a little bit. The goal is to try to find a consistent time that I can dedicate to Book People every week. Will mull it over some more.
For now, we are half way through December already. The end is neigh and I, for one, am VERY ready for some hunkering and hurkle-durkle-ing.
Stay warm out there!
